...just a little...

i love you
you're not perfect
don't change

Dear Old Shiz

O, hallowed halls and vine draped walls
the proudliest site there is.
When grey and seer our hair hath turned,
we shall still revere the lessons learned
in our days at dear old Shiz.

So though I can't imagine how, I hope you're happy right now…

Something has changed within me
Something is not the same
It's time to trust my instincts
Close my eyes...and leap!

I hope you're happy
Now that you're choosing this
I hope it brings you bliss
I really hope you get it
And you don't live to regret it
I hope you're happy in the end
I hope you're happy,
my friend...

...green...

Hands touch, eyes meet
Sudden silence, sudden heat
Hearts leap in a giddy whirl
...
Don't dream too far
Don't lose sight of who you are
Don't remember that rush of joy
...
Ev'ry so often we long to steal
To the land of what-might-have-been
But that doesn't soften the ache we feel
When reality sets back in
...
Don't wish, don't start
Wishing only wounds the heart

...all good things must come to an end...

" Hi, Amy, it's mom. Well, by the time you see this, I won't be here anymore, and I know how much that sucks, for both of us. So seeing as how I won't be around to thoroughly annoy you, I thought I would give you a little list of the things that I wish for you. Well, there's the obvious. An education. Family. Friends. And a life that is full of the unexpected. Be sure to make mistakes. Make a lot of them, because there's no better way to learn and to grow, all right? And, um, I want you to spend a lot of time at the ocean, because the ocean forces you to dream, and I insist that you, my girl, be a dreamer. God. I've never really believed in god. In fact, I've spent a lot of time and energy trying to disprove that god exists. But I hope that you are able to believe in god, because the thing that I've come to realize, sweetheart... is that it just doesn't matter if god exists or not. The important thing is for you to believe in something, because I promise you that that belief will keep you warm at night, and I want you to feel safe always. And then there's love. I want you to love to the tips of your fingers, and when you find that love, wherever you find it, whoever you choose, don't run away from it. But you don't have to chase after it either. You just be patient, and it'll come to you, I promise, and when you least expect it, like you, like spending the best year of my life with the sweetest and the smartest and the most beautiful baby girl in the world. You don't be afraid, sweetheart. And remember, to love is to live. "

...just one latte...

There's a boy who works at Starbucks
Who is very inspirational.
He is very inspirational
...because of many things.
I come in at 8:11, and he smiles and says, "How are you?"
When he smiles and says, "How are you?"
I could swear my heart grows wings!
So today at 8:11I decided I should meet him
I decided I should meet him in a proper formal way.
So today at 8:11 when he smiled and said "How are you?"
I said "Fine, and my name's Kristin,"
And he softly answered, "Hey."
And I said "My name is Kristin, and thank you for the extra foam…"
And he said his name was Taylor,
which provides the inspiration for this poem:

Taylor the latte boy, Bring me java, bring me joy!
Oh Taylor the latte boy, I love him, I love him, I love him…

So I’d like to get my nerve up to recite my poem musical.
He would like the fact it’s musical because he plays guitar.
So today at 8:11, Taylor told me he was playing in a band down in the village in the basement of a bar.
And he smoothly flipped the lever to prepare my double latte,
But for me he made it triple! (And he didn’t think I knew)
But I saw him flip the lever, and for me he made it triple,
And I knew that triple latte meant that Taylor loved me too!
I said, "What time are you playing? And thank you for the extra skim…"
He said, "Keep the $3.55," because this triple latte was on him.

Taylor the latte boy, Bring me java, bring me joy!
Oh Taylor the latte boy, I love him, I love him, I love him…

I used to be the kind of girl who’d run when love rushed toward her.
But finally a voice whispered, "Love can be yours, If you step up to the counter and order!"

So many years my heart has waited,
Who’d have thought that love could be so caffeinated?

Taylor, the latte boy, I love him, I love him, I love him.
I love him, I love him, I love him.

...lost...

Love, look away!
Love look away from me
Fly when you pass my door,

fly and get lost at sea.

Call it a day
Love, let us say we're through.
No good are you for me,

no good am I for you.

Wanting you so, I try too much;
after you go, I cry too much.

Love, look away
- lonely though I may be -
leave me and set me free
look away,

look away

look away from me...
